Exploring the Enchanting Silberregion Karwendel

We Joined this beautiful area for a press invitation and enjoyed a full program, getting to know the region as well as the activities and things to do. During this trip, we were the first team to walk a newly opened hiking route in the region. The day was a little rainy, but as the Germans say, there is no bad weather, only bad clothes. We grabbed our raincoats and set off. The area is so beautiful that we can’t wait to tell you about it.

On the first day, the program began with the opening of the new Hiking Route. Alongside the enchanting melodies of Austrian music, there was a ribbon-cutting ceremony accompanied by champagne and apple schnapps. Despite the rain, which was only a drizzle, we were undeterred. Once the road was officially opened, our team embarked on the hike. The path was somewhat muddy due to the rain, but the joy of being the first to set foot on this trail was absolutely priceless.

After enjoying a delightful hike with our team, our first stop was Puitner, where we planned to celebrate the opening. We arrived at Puitner Stüberl, a charming venue that exuded the essence of Austrian melodies. However, on that particular day, it transformed into an extraordinary place with the arrival of a folk music group. At one point, the musicians serenaded the guests at their tables, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere. This immersive experience allowed us to delve into both the region and its culture, leaving a lasting impression. We can’t wait to return and bask in the sunshine while sitting outside on a warm day.

After enjoying our time at the lovely local restaurant, we prepared ourselves to continue our hike. The next route stretched for 9.5 kilometers, treating us to breathtaking views at every turn. If you observe the images closely, you can witness the vivid spectrum of green hues that enveloped the landscape. Although there were some gentle inclines and declines along the way, the captivating vistas we encountered made every step worthwhile. It was a delightful experience to indulge in thoughts of the delicious Austrian cuisine awaiting us as we walked. Each stride we took only fueled our anticipation for the delectable dinner that awaited us.

ater, we made our way to a restaurant called Hüttegg, renowned for its stunning panoramic view, to savor the delectable Austrian cuisine and meet the surprise guest, Harry Prünster, who was born in the region. Fortunately, there were some clouds overhead, but when they momentarily parted, the sight below was simply awe-inspiring. Against this backdrop, we relished the mouthwatering food and immersed ourselves in the beauty of the surroundings. The evening continued with Harry Prünster serenading us with his guitar and captivating voice. Some couples danced, while others joined in the melodic chorus, creating a truly unforgettable night. In fact, one of the most amusing moments was when Harry started serenading the entire crowd.

I’ve attached a photo of your team below. Everyone was incredibly friendly, and exploring the area with this wonderful group made the experience even more enjoyable.

The following day, we began our day with a scrumptious breakfast at our hotel, Gasthof Schmalzerhof. Throughout our trip, this centrally located hotel provided us with not only a stunning view but also ample comfort. The rooms were spacious and impeccably clean, ensuring a pleasant stay. The hotel also boasted a delightful restaurant, as we had the pleasure of experiencing on our first day. If you find yourself in this region, I highly recommend indulging in the culinary delights offered by this establishment.

After enjoying our breakfast, we embarked on a visit to the renowned Schloss Tratzberg, which holds great significance in the region. I wish I could personally witness the sights we encountered along the way. The pristine air and lush greenery of Austria never fail to leave a lasting impression.

Once inside the palace, we had the opportunity to engage with the surroundings in a technologically advanced manner, using 3D glasses. This immersive experience was truly remarkable. Subsequently, we explored each room and marveled at the intricate craftsmanship firsthand. Listening to the history of these rooms and furnishings, which were meticulously crafted and thoughtfully preserved, enhanced our visit. With the assistance of audio guides, we were able to delve into the ambiance and appreciate every intricate detail. It was an incredible experience that allowed us to truly appreciate the rich heritage within those walls.

Following our palace tour, we took a well-deserved lunch break at the restaurant located beneath the palace. Once again, we had the opportunity to indulge in the delectable offerings of Austrian cuisine. We relished the mouthwatering Schnitzels, further deepening our love for the regional fare. The culinary delights of the region continued to captivate our taste buds, leaving us even more enamored with the local food scene.

After concluding our palace tour, we embarked on a journey to the center of the region, accompanied by a guide. With their expertise, we were able to explore the heart of the area and learn about its rich history. This experience was truly delightful, as we had the opportunity to visit the surrounding attractions and gain valuable insights from our knowledgeable guide.

Once the tour concluded, we were granted some free time to further explore the region at our own leisure. As we strolled along, a charming café caught our attention, and we couldn’t resist the temptation to take a break. We settled in and treated ourselves to delicious lattes, savoring the moment and immersing ourselves in the pleasant ambiance of the café.

Later, we regrouped with the rest of the team at the designated time and proceeded to our dinner venue. We arrived at a restaurant called Steixner, where we had the pleasure of savoring the delightful local cuisine once again. The dishes we experienced there, accompanied by engaging conversations, created a truly memorable culinary experience. The delectable food, combined with the camaraderie, forged even stronger bonds within our team.

However, despite the enjoyable evening, a tinge of melancholy lingered as it was our last day together. We concluded the meal by indulging in tempting desserts and refreshing cocktails, cherishing the moments we had shared.
